 being flesh/ TaoTe Ching......
Back to Full Blog

carrying body and soul and embracing the one,
can you avoid separation?
attending fully and becoming supple,
can you be as a newborn babe?
washing and cleansing the primal vision,
can you be without stain?
loving all men and ruling the country,
can you be without cleverness?
opening and closing the gates of heaven,
can you play the role of woman?
understanding and being open to all things,
are you able to do nothing?
giving birth and nourishing,
bearing yet not possessing,
working yet not taking credit,
leading yet not dominating,

This is the primal virtue.

the Confuscian concept of what the Hopi and many early cultures describe as a "complete human being". a worthy endeavor.

Thirty spokes join in one hub
In its emptiness, there is the function of a vehicle
Mix clay to create a container
In its emptiness, there is the function of a container
Cut open doors and windows to create a room
In its emptiness, there is the function of a room

Therefore, that which exists is used to create benefit
That which is empty is used to create functionality

A thought for you ShoutOutGirl...

It is the essence inside
Primal virtue delayed
Delicate balance
Heavenly love conveyed
A breath....a touch....a feel
Dancing by the firelight on a Moon lit night
The spirit is the key
The flesh just a container
Of the real you and me

to shoutoutgirl:

Primal virtue
True selflessness
Almost impossible
For us to attain

But then
There's some
Who try
So hard in vain

Seems to me
The less
I try the less
It hurts my brain

It's when I
Forget about I
Then I'm almost
On that train
